Breaking ground on this project in April of 2024 to its completion in August 2025, WAH has laid around 2 miles worth of wet utilities and trucked in 28,000 CY of suitable fill material all while managing operations with maintaining driveway access and operating in congested Northern Virginia conditions.
This project is located in Loudoun County near Belmont Country Club. Beazer Homes is building 106 two-story condos and 57 three story townhouses. Its an 11-12 Acre site, with 120,000 CY’s of excavation, around 9,000 LF of utilities and a large underground detention system which will be completed by this fall.

This project includes a full site development package consisting of approximately 2,000 linear feet of storm pipe and over 12,000 cubic yards of excavation. From initial grading through final paving, the Hazel team is dedicated to delivering a safer, more efficient roadway for the traveling public.

This next section consists of 4 retaining walls with the tallest topping out around 26’ tall, WAH had to install a 72” storm pipe that outfalled through the 26’ tall retaining wall, installation of a bayfilter and ADS underground detection system that displaced 7,000CY of dirt.

Read moreThe William A. Hazel team is partnering with the Department of Public Works in Fairfax County to upgrade the existing gravity sanitary sewer infrastructure in Merrifield. This project includes replacing the existing 12-inch sewer line with 18-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) to better serve the area’s growing population and support future development. Located along the corridor between Route 29 and Eskridge Road and the U.S. Postal Service’s Merrifield facility, the upgraded system will significantly improve capacity and reliability.
The scope of work includes the installation of approximately 560 linear feet of 18-inch ductile iron sanitary sewer pipe, five new precast concrete manholes, and the rerouting of five existing sanitary laterals serving the United States Postal Service facility, PSI, and a single-family residence.
Despite the challenges of working in a constrained urban environment, the Hazel team is delivering efficient, safe, and coordinated construction to minimize disruption and maximize long-term value for the Merrifield community.
