Essential Functions:

• Coordinate and supervise multiple residential, commercial or infrastructure site work projects. 
• Interface with all parties involved to oversee and ensure project completion on time and within budget.  
• Maintain project budgets, cost estimates, schedules, and resource allocations. 
• Provide document control, plan analysis, project progress, resource scheduling, and fiscal reporting. 
• Provide project management team with guidance for contract and project specifications. 
• Collaborate with engineers, clients, vendors and field operations on value engineering, change management, schedule maintenance and project close out. 
• Selection of subcontractors and material suppliers.  
• Reports to Construction Manager. 

Requirements:

Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for over 60 years, is looking for a Safety Officer.  The individual in this position will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. This role involves regular site inspections, training staff, and implementing safety programs to minimize risks and enhance the safety culture within the organization. 

Essential Functions: 

• Implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. 
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in construction safety. 
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards – replenish first aid kits and safety equipment. 
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports and reports to Safety Vice President all accidents, incidents, and near misses, damage claims, criminal activities and personnel problems of immediate attention. 
• Review and investigate all safety complaints. 
• Provide safety training and education to employees, including new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and specialized safety training. 
• Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to develop site-specific safety plans and ensure their implementation. 
• Maintain and update safety records, including incident reports, training logs, and safety inspection checklists. 
• Maintain an organized file system for all accidents and injuries. 
• Promote a positive safety culture and encourage proactive safety measures among all employees. 
• Coordinate with external agencies, such as OSHA, during inspections and audits. 
• Assist with Ms. Utilities that need to be called and located for field personnel. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. 
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction safety or a similar role  
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or similar certification preferred. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Understanding of machine guidance equipment & software. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computation skills. 
• Ability to navigate and inspect all areas of construction sites in all types of weather conditions. 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 
• Extended periods of standing, walking, and climbing ladders.

William A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for over 50 years, is looking for a Quality Control Manager. The individual in this position will be responsible for developing, presenting, and implementing the corporate quality control program and ensure that all work meets the standards of the contractual obligations.

Essential Functions

• Develop, present, and implement corporate quality control program
• Inspect and spot check the projects in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents, reporting deficiencies as appropriate and elevating issues as needed to ensure safe work practices and acceptable quality levels
• Ensure that subcontractors are aware of all project quality control requirements on new projects
• Management and leadership of company rework tracking program and analysis of program to insure reporting consistency and program compliance
• Support the project staffs in planning for and conducting the three-phase inspection program to include: Preparatory Meetings and Reports; Initial Phase Inspections and Reports; Follow-up Inspections and Reports; and Final Phase Inspections
• Lead and document quality control meetings with the project teams and/or customers; and provide written minutes.
• Lead company QC training efforts
• If assigned to a project, perform routine quality control functions including providing daily quality control reports and any another QC functions contractually required
• Audit that verification and documentation processes for all materials & equipment being received for the projects are occurring
• Verify that all required code and independent inspections are occurring and being clearly documented, etc.
• Spot check project as-built drawings to ensure that they are current and that deviations from the contract drawings are annotated
• Communicate and interact as a team member with all Hazel construction staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and customer representatives, in a professional manner
• Develop project specific quality control plans as needed
• Participate in interview process of future QC program employees
• Represent Hazel as needed on projects and at regional industry events

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or related field from an accredited university preferred Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
• Current OSHA 30; First Aid/CPR; and USACE Construction Quality Control Management certifications; or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal); and ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Familiar with USACE RMS CM and EM-385-1-1

• Uncompromising commitment to safety
• Must be able to pass all required contract security and citizenship requirements.
• Minimum of 10 years experience with companies of similar or larger size and scope with at least five years in a QC role. Strong interpersonal skill both oral and written.
