Track Loader Operator
William A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for over 60 years, is looking for a Track Loader Operator for our Pipe Crew. This position reports to and is under the direction of foreman or superintendent. William A. Hazel, Inc., operates all over the Northern Virginia Area. By applying to this position, you acknowledge and understand you may be required to commute to job sites.
Essential Functions
- Start engine, shift gears, and press pedals with feet to operate loader. Move levers to lower and tilt bucket and drive front end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Move levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drive vehicle to work site, and move levers to dump material.
- Uses pipe forks to load and unload materials – pipe, cement, block, etc.
- Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning, including the tracks in applicable weather.
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Less than high school education required. Up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education experience. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The work environment charachteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborn particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
