Fairfax Wastewater

The civil portion of the Fairfax Stormwater Wastewater Facility project was awarded to William A. Hazel, Inc. by Manhattan Construction Company. The project is complicated by the requirement that the existing waste and stormwater maintenance facility must remain in operation until the replacement facility is complete. The ultimate buildout includes pad delivery for seven separate buildings totaling over 150,000 square feet including five underground StormTech detention systems, 8,500 lf of associated sanitary, storm and water installations, and over 68,000 sy of site and road grading.

The William A. Hazel, Inc. team is currently working on the Northfax project, which is located in Fairfax City, VA behind the famous 29 Diner. This project has 987’ of twin 8’ x 8’ box culvert. There will be multiple sewer pump arounds to facilitate the box culvert installation and sewer relocations. There is a minor amount of earthwork and grading to accomplish the improvements to new Orchard Street. At this time, we have completed the clearing and will be starting the stream diversion soon.

The Four Seasons project is located in the Ruckersville District of Greene County, Virginia. William A. Hazel, Inc. is currently working on Phase 2 of the project for Hovnanian Homes, which includes 300,000 CY of excavation and 21,100 LF of pipe. When completed, the project will be home to 129 new single-family homes located on 35+ acres of land. Phase 1 project work was completed by our team in 2006, which consisted of 144 lots and the recreation center.

William A. Hazel, Inc. is currently working on phase 2 of the Arden Development in McLean, VA for Toll Brothers. The project includes 200,000 CY of earthwork, 6,000 LF of both gravity and force main sanitary, six underground detention structures, 5,300 LF of watermain, 6,700 LF of storm sewer and associated roadway grading and stone.

Village at Leesburg is one of William A. Hazel’s site development projects in Leesburg, Virginia, which was completed in 2000. The Village at Leesburg is a regional outdoor retail center located in Leesburg, Virginia. The open-air center features a total of 1.2 million square feet of development encompassing 57 acres. The open-air development features over 40 retailers and restaurants, including multi-family residences, office, and retail space. The project was built for local real estate developer Kettler Inc.

William A. Hazel, Inc. completed site work construction at Leesburg Premium Outlets in 2000. The Leesburg Premium Outlets consists of 518,000 square feet and over 110 stores off Route 7 and Route 15 in Loudoun County. The project was built for Chelsea Corporation and included road improvements to Route 15.

Lansdowne is one of William A. Hazel’s site development projects in Leesburg, VA, which was completed in 2005. Lansdowne is a master-planned community located off Route 7 in Leesburg, Virginia. The 1,900-acre community has amenities that include Lansdowne Resort hotel and golf course, Lansdowne Town Center with office and retail, INOVA Loudoun Hospital, and an active adult living facility, along with over 3,000 residential homes along the banks of the Potomac River.

William A. Hazel, Inc. completed site work construction at Dulles Town Center Mall in 1999. The construction of the Dulles Town Center Mall began in 1996 and the first two anchor stores opened late 1998. The Dulles Town Center is a two-level enclosed, 1.4 million square foot, shopping mall in Sterling, Virginia, the only totally enclosed shopping mall in Loudoun County.

One Loudoun is one of William A. Hazel’s site development projects in Loudoun, VA, which was completed in 2020. One Loudoun is a 360-acre project consisting of 1,954 residential homes and 1.5 million square feet of office/retail, several restaurants, and a movie theater. The community is at the intersection of Route 7 and Loudoun County Parkway, providing easy access to major employment centers.

William A. Hazel, Inc. completed site work construction at Creighton’s Corner Elementary School in 2016. Creighton’s Corner Elementary is a public school located in a large suburb of Ashburn, Virginia in Loudoun County. The student population is 1,037.
