Area Construction Manager
William A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for over 60 years, is seeking a Construction Manager to join our team. This is one of the construction office jobs we are now hiring for, responsible for leading and overseeing a project management team responsible for a variety of large and occasionally small-scale construction projects. This leadership role is critical in ensuring project success, meeting financial and operational goals, and fostering strong client relationships.
Essential Functions
- Provide guidance and oversight to project managers and job/crew superintendents through frequent site visits.
- Assist with resolving conflicts involving customers, subcontractors, and municipal authorities.
- Collaborate on implementation and interpretation of company safety programs.
- Monitor productivity, budget, and scheduling performance to meet company and client expectations.
- Lead regular meetings with project teams and executive management to align progress and resolve challenges.
- Develop succession plans and identify internal or external candidates for key team roles.
- Maintain positive client relationships through consistent communication and professionalism.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract scope, design, budget, and timeline.
Requirements
Minimum 15 years of experience in construction project management or a similar leadership role.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and personnel.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Skilled in conflict resolution and customer engagement.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
