Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for over 60 years,\u00a0is\u00a0looking for an experienced <strong>Light Duty Truck Mechanic<\/strong> to join our light equipment shop, responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of light-duty trucks and vehicles (Ford, Chevy, and similar makes) in our fleet. This role is separate from our heavy equipment shop and focuses specifically on pickups, vans, and light-duty service trucks.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake service, tire rotations, and fluid checks on light-duty trucks and vehicles\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on gas and diesel light-duty trucks\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inspect and repair engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and brake systems\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform diagnostics using OBD-II scan tools and manufacturer-specific diagnostic software\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory compliance standards\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair specifications\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain\u00a0accurate\u00a0records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours in a work order\/fleet maintenance system\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist\u00a0with preventive maintenance scheduling to minimize vehicle downtime\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other duties as assigned by shop management\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent; technical\/trade school certification preferred\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2+ years of experience as a light-duty\/automotive mechanic (fleet or dealership experience a plus)\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong knowledge of gas and diesel light-duty truck systems (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, HVAC)\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with diagnostic scan tools and computerized diagnostic equipment\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valid driver&#8217;s license with clean driving record\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to lift 50+\u00a0lbs, work in various weather conditions, and stand\/bend\/kneel for extended periods\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tool Requirement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applicants must supply their own hand tools and standard\u00a0mechanic&#8217;s\u00a0tool\u00a0set<\/strong>\u00a0necessary to perform light-duty truck repair and maintenance work.
