The project is comprised of 50,000 CY of earthwork, 3,500 LF of wet utilities, 7,000 LF of concrete curb, 4,700 LF of concrete curb and gutter, 9,000 TN of stone, 10,000 TN of asphalt paving, and 26,000 SY of flexible pavement planing. The challenges that exist on this project are working around existing utilities and dealing with rock encountered during excavation.
Shenandoah Springs is William A. Hazel’s first venture into Wild Wonderful West Virginia. This project is a 172-lot single family subdivision, being constructed for Lennar in Charles Town, WV. Upon completion, this 42-acre parcel will have over 17,000 LF of wet utilities installed along with 14,000 LF of curb and asphalt paving.

After completing Phase I in mid-2021, WAH was awarded Phase II, Phase III and Marshall Sanitary Improvements in November 2022.
Carter’s Crossing Phase II and Phase III is a complete site work package that includes 216,742 CY of excavation, rock blasting, storm, sanitary, over 6,000 LF of water in associated storm sewer, curb/gutter base stone and paving stone.
Marshall Sanitary Improvement includes 420 LF of Bore under Route 66 and installation of 1,254 LF of 24in and 271 LF of 18in of sanitary sewer. Boring under Interstate 66 is slightly hampered due to obstructions like hitting rocks and tree stump, but our team was able to push the casing pipe efficiently.
