One thing I want potential employees to know is that at William A Hazel, you truly get out what you put in. Give your absolute best and it will be noticed. It’s a supportive, family-oriented environment where everyone has each other’s backs. We’re all in this together, and hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. What I love most about working here is the sense of unity. No matter the challenge, there’s always someone ready to lend a hand or provide guidance. The company goes above and beyond to ensure we have the knowledge and resources to succeed in our tasks.
One of my fondest memories at Hazel is the Christmas parties and picnics. It’s not just about the festivities, but hearing people share their long tenures with the company reminds me that I made the right choice. I aspire to retire from here with decades of experience under my belt. I often recommend this company to friends and family because of the plethora of opportunities available and the continuous training provided. Safety and skill enhancement are paramount here.
What sets Hazel apart from competitors is their genuine compassion and appreciation for employees. We’re not just numbers; we’re valued members of a tight-knit team, each playing a vital role in our collective success. In my current position, I relish the hands-on approach and the opportunity to implement my ideas. Interacting with customers and showing them the value we place on their business is incredibly rewarding.
I’m grateful for the opportunity given to me by Doug Palatt to take on a larger role. My background in construction, passed down from family, has prepared me well for this journey. I’ve always strived for more, and I’m not afraid of the hard work it takes to succeed. I’m committed to carrying on the legacy of Mr. Hazel. Management has done an excellent job of keeping us at the forefront of the industry, adapting to new challenges and expanding our capabilities. I am excited to continue growing and contributing to its success.

If you come in and work hard, your hard work will be recognized and rewarded. The best thing about working for Hazel is the people and comradery. Some of my best memories come from getting together with the field team, putting a plan together to tackle a problem, and seeing it come to fruition.
The Hazel culture can’t be found anywhere else. Everybody is very easy to get along with. I started working on John Anderson’s pipe crew during summers in college then worked as an estimator for several years before becoming a project manager. My favorite part of being a project manager is collaborating with the field team. The legacy of treating employees as family began with Mr. Hazel and still lives on to this day.
